“You’re never given anything that you can’t handle.” – John-Roger

Tracy Kaczmarczyk

NASM Certified Personal Trainer

I want to help you be the best YOU that you can be. What you do in the gym translates to the rest of your life – you can achieve goals, overcome obstacles, and face any challenge that life throws at you with the strength and determination you gain from your workout. I know this because I have lived it. You may think that personal trainers have no idea what you are going through, but I have been where you are, and I know what it’s like to initiate change for the better.

I did not grow up dreaming of becoming a personal trainer. I wanted to be an artist. I had my head in the clouds for a vast majority of my life, with paint under my nails and pencil smudges on my nose. Art was my escape from the world. I was the sick, nerdy kid who got bullied on the school bus, at recess, and in class. To this day I battle asthma, autoimmune issues, and chronic insomnia that began very early.  Despite the obnoxious issues I faced, I was always active. I loved being outside, trekking through the forest behind our house, playing soccer, building forts, and getting muddy. I didn’t know a lot of girls like me, and I paid the price for being different.

My whole life I felt invisible – quiet, shy, unimportant, unwelcome. I had tangled hair and buckteeth. Everyone laughed at my crazy lisp. I was outsmarted, outperformed, and outshone by just about everyone. I’ve always felt on the outside looking in – too tomboyish to be pretty, too smart to be cool (but too inarticulate to be intelligent), and way too weird to be popular.

I think that’s why I’ve always been drawn to hard rock music – an artistic expression of the frustration / joy of being a misfit – no matter what you’re feeling, there’s always a perfect rock song to fit your mood.

Years of crippling self-doubt pushed me in opposing directions. I pushed hard to fit into a ‘label’ and became valedictorian of my high school class. On a full college scholarship, I defiantly pursued an art degree and spent years of my adult life cramped behind a computer screen creating graphic designs. While I loved being able to apply my creativity to my day job, it wrecked my body and sent me into a depressing tailspin of long hours, insomnia, and anxiety. I felt like I let everyone down, especially myself. My saving grace through this was that I always stayed active.

Then I met Bob. We had a fairy-tale love-at-first-sight kind of story. I watched this wonderful man struggle with his engineering job, make a giant career leap, and then blossom into an inspirational personal trainer. I saw him change lives. I witnessed first-hand how guiding someone into a healthy lifestyle could make an impact….and I wanted to be a part of it. You may say I ‘married into’ personal training, and maybe I did. I became a personal trainer in 2015, blending my own unique style of fitness and background in reality into each and every session. With Bob’s steady support, the love of my patient family, and a shit-ton of personal effort, I changed my life. Now it’s your turn.

I became a trainer to help others find that same strength within themselves. When you feel indestructible during a workout, you carry that strength with you and apply that positive mindset to everything else. If I can make you feel this way, I’ve made the world a better place, one dumbbell at a time.  I know what it’s like to struggle with finding time for workouts, to deal with the crushing guilt that accompanies self-care, and to juggle a challenging schedule. I also know how wonderfully different life can feel with a healthy lifestyle. I want to share that empowerment with you. I’m still on my journey but I hope you will share the road with me.

Nutrition and exercise are the key building blocks for my sanity and physical well-being. I believe in a common-sense approach to what we eat and how we move. Working out is not a punishment for what we eat, and food is not a reward (or the enemy). Mindfulness and gratitude are important components to a healthy lifestyle.

Taking the first step is always the hardest. You may feel overwhelmed or intimidated, focusing on what you can’t do in this moment. I try to retrain that way of thinking. Let’s concentrate on the AMAZING things our bodies CAN do right now, regardless of how simple, so we can be grateful for each and every day. Join me in celebrating life, movement, progress, and hope. It’s my honor to help you on your path to well-being.

Thanks for considering me as your personal trainer / workout buddy.

Lynda N.

“I just wanted to let you know that I really do love your flexibility class. It is so good! Every time you have us close our eyes and think of something I always promise myself to stay committed to my health. I will definitely come back.”

Jaclyn B.

“Tracy and Bob are incredible. At age 55, I’m a fitness challenge. They have conquered that challenge, and I’ve never felt this good and strong. This is a heavy recommendation. I chose Heavy Metal Fitness because I wanted an environment that was unique to the cookie-cutter chain fitness centers. My first conversation with Bob convinced me that their approach would be based on my specific needs.”

“My top fitness goals are to become stronger and more physically fit. As I have several physical ailments (knees, elbows, etc.), my trainer, Tracy, is helping me achieve this goal by constantly adapting our training sessions to work around these problems while still challenging my body to get a good workout. Tracy gives helpful ideas to me for exercises to do outside of our training sessions which have been very beneficial.”

“Going to Heavy Metal Fitness is truly fun! The trainers are friendly, encouraging, helpful, and positive. Looking forward to a sometimes difficult training session is hard to believe, but it’s true. Heavy Metal Fitness is a great place to go no matter your fitness level. A person can go there without feeling guilty or uncomfortable about their body which is the perfect environment to make physical improvement. After going to Heavy Metal Fitness for over a year, the training sessions continue to change and evolve which makes the hard work challenging and fun.”

Heather V.

“My husband and I feel great since going to Heavy Metal Fitness. Bob has been our trainer for six years. We have now participated in Bootcamp and Stretching in addition to our bi-weekly work outs. Bob and Tracy make an awesome team; they excel in all they do. Keep up the good work!”

Jennifer S.

“No better mother/daughter bonding! Along with that comes proof that as we age we need more. Bob and Tracy are the best. Trust me, you will also find yourself saying “is this Bob approved.” Tell him Jennifer and Kristen sent you – invest in yourself no matter your level!”
